You have written a killer resume and now it landed you an interview. Congratulations on a job well done! But you should know right now that the war has just started. Just because you get invited for an interview doesn’t mean the job is yours so now what you need to do is brush up on job interview tips and techniques so you can ace that interview and nab that job.
Now you will find a lot of job interview tips and techniques out there and while some of them will be pretty basic, there are some that will be more specific and teach you how to sell yourself and deal with tricky questions and requests from interviewers. Since you are preparing to nab a job, the last you want to do is go unprepared so once you have memorized the basic interview tips and techniques, it is time to move on to the more specialized ones.
What Awaits You
There are some interviewers that tend to be really straightforward with their questions and you should be thankful for them. They will ask you straight questions and they expect you to give them straight answers in return. Now there are some hiring managers and interviewers that like to be tricky and will ask you some pretty strange questions. These may be designed to startle you and some will be asked to stump you and see how well you react. One question they love to ask is “describe yourself” but the tricky interviewer will add “describe yourself in three words” which doesn’t give you much wiggle room.
You may think you are doomed once you hear this question but the fact of the matter is, you are not. You already know that you might be asked that question so now is the time to think about it. You can stick with standard descriptions like “honest, responsible, hard-working” and that’s fine but saying those three is the same as saying “boring, unimaginative, dull”.
This is a question that is unlike any other and this is your chance to show them that you are unlike any other job hunter out there. This is your time to shine so why not choose other three words with which to describe yourself?
Some words you can choose from are listed below:

Those are just some of the words you can choose from and there are so many more! Just make sure that you choose words that give the interviewer a good idea of who you are and also make you stand out. When you have some free time, try to think about three traits of yours that make you stand out so that you have a better idea of what to say to the interviewer. Do not be afraid of using at least one fancy word because then he will know that you are not at all basic, dull, and forgettable to boot but rather, would be a perfect fit for the company.
