Do you remember back when you were a kid and someone asked you want you wanted to be when you grew up? Chances are you mentioned careers like astronaut, doctor, lawyer, fireman, or even a police offer. As you grow up, your choices of careers will change at least several times and for most people, by the time they reach college, they would have gone for more realistic career goals. However, with the way the world is evolving and changing, tried-and-tested careers may quickly become the thing of the past as new careers that are more suited to the current day and age.

One example of a new career is “ethical hacker” and it is okay if you have never heard of such a thing; lots of people are in the same boat as you are but this doesn’t mean you cannot find out more about it and other new careers.

Below are examples of new careers that cater to the needs of the every-evolving and hyper-connected people live in these days. They pay really well and you might just want to consider them if you are looking for a job.

New jobs

Logistician – logistician will not only tell you where the goods are in the market but will tell you how it got there. This job mainly works to make operations smoother so less time and money is wasted. Ethical hacker – it sounds like an oxymoron because how can hacking be at all ethical? This is a very real job though with real-world applications. Companies hire ethical hackers to help them pinpoint problems with their systems and improve them.

Actuary – do you love numbers? This job may just be the thing for you since you will be tasked to calculate risks and returns banks, consulting firms, insurance companies, and even governments. With this job, you can look forward to a median income of $81K per year.

Epidemiologist – your job will be to take a look at epidemics and figure out where they came from and how best to contain them. This is a risky job but one that is very rewarding.

Food chemist – is this really a job that requires you to figure out how to improve food? It doesn’t get any sweeter than that. As a food chemist, you are looking at incomes that start at $50K per year to $100K a year.
